"3d virtual worlds" are becoming popular on the internet as our technology reaches a point where they become practical to implement. The "Opensim" software (http://www.opensimulator.org/) is a popular open source platform for creating and running virtual worlds, based loosely around the commercial SecondLife platform. The purpose of this project is to research the Opensim software, identify a serious security issue that may affect its users, and provide a solution that addresses it in some way. The solution should run on the Linux OS (opensim itself is cross-platform)
