kunlun

KunlunBase is a distributed relational database management system(RDBMS) with complete NewSQL capabilities and robust transaction ACID guarantees and is compatible with standard SQL. Applications which used PostgreSQL or MySQL can work with KunlunBase as-is without any code change or rebuild because KunlunBase supports both PostgreSQL and MySQL connection protocols and DML SQL grammars. MySQL DBAs can quickly work on a KunlunBase cluster because we use MySQL as storage nodes of KunlunBase. KunlunBase can elastically scale out as needed, and guarantees transaction ACID under error conditions, and KunlunBase fully passes TPC-C, TPC-H and TPC-DS test suites, so it not only support OLTP workloads but also OLAP workloads. Application developers can use KunlunBase to build IT systems that handles terabytes of data, without any effort on their part to implement data sharding, distributed transaction processing, distributed query processing, crash safety, high availability, strong consistency, horizontal scalability. All these powerful features are provided by KunlunBase. KunlunBase supports powerful and user friendly cluster management, monitor and provision features, can be readily used as DBaaS.

Kunlun-storage is the storage component for Kunlun distributed DBMS. It's developed based on percona-mysql-8.0.x and contains exclusive features used by Kunlun distributed DBMS, performance enhancements and XA transaction crash safety enhancements without which MySQL would not be able to execute XA transactions reliably.

cluster_mgr

Clust_mgr is an important compnent of KunlunBase. It provides a HTTP API for KunlunBase users to do cluster management, provisioning and monitor work, so that uses can install a cluster, a kunlun-server node, a storage shard or a kunlun-storage node by calling such APIs. Such capability enables users to integrate KunlunBase management and provisioning as part of their existing application or GUIs. Cluster_mgr also provide other important cluster maintenance background work to make sure the KunlunBase clusters it serves can work efficiently and reliably.

sysbench-xa

derived from standard sysbench performance testing tools, added test cases and scripts to test performance of mysql XA transaction processing, also added python scripts to generate pretty reporting web pages

node_mgr

Each machine node runs such an server instance, which operates kunlun storage nodes(SN) and/or computing nodes(CN) that run on the computer server, in response to requests initiated by computing nodes and/or cluster_mgr module to start/stop/create/drop/backup/restore a CN/SN.
