How to start RapidMiner (Windows):
To start RapidMiner, you can use the RapidMiner.exe file located in the same directory as this readme. If you do not want to/cannot use .exe file, you can also start RapidMiner via the RapidMinerGUI.bat batchfile in the /scripts folder. Starting RapidMiner via the rapidminer.jar is not recommended as doing so will break the update mechanism of RapidMiner.
How to start RapidMiner (Linux):
To start RapidMiner, you can use the RapidMinerGUI file located in the /scripts folder. In some cases you will need to set chmod +x RapidMinerGUI via console first. Then call .script/RapidMinerGUI inside the RapidMiner directory to start RapidMiner. Starting RapidMiner via the rapidminer.jar is not recommended as doing so will break the update mechanism of RapidMiner.
How to start RapidMiner (Mac):
To start RapidMiner, you can use the RapidMinerGUI file located in the /scripts folder. In some cases you will need to set chmod +x RapidMinerGUI via console first. Then call ./script/RapidMinerGUI inside the RapidMiner directory to start RapidMiner. Acquire extensions for RapidMiner:
RapidMiner ships with a huge list of operators for many purposes, however certain functionality for a specific purpose has been moved to extensions. If you want more operators for these specific purposes like Text Mining or Web Mining, you can browse through the available extensions for RapidMiner via "Help" -> "Updates and Extensions (Marketplace)". There you will find popular extensions or you can search for any available extension. To install them, just select them, click "Install" in the lower right corner and follow the instructions.
Community forum:
You can visit our active community forums via "Help" -> "Community Forum". There you can find ideas on how to achieve certain goals, tips&tricks when designing processes, solutions to common problems and much more. If you are experiencing an error and want to ask for help via the forums, please remember to copy&paste the error from the logfile (see below).
Log file:
In your user home folder there is a .RapidMiner5 folder. Inside it you will find a rm.log file which contains all log messages from the latest RapidMiner execution.
