HackMIT

Our web-based project detects signs using the live feed from the camera and features like autocorrect and autocomplete reduce the communication time so that the focus is more on communication rather than the modes. Furthermore, the Learn feature enables users to explore and improve their sign language skills in a fun and engaging way. Because of limited time and computing power, we chose to train an ML model on ASL, one of the most popular sign languages - but the extrapolation to other sign languages is easily achievable.

gaize

Collect data points by moving your mouse over the screen, following the cursor with your eyes and hitting the space key repeatedly. Once you have enought data points (We recommend >20), hit the Train button and wait till it finishes training. The grey circle should start following your eyes around. You can continue pressing space to gather more data points (more the merrier). Once you're satisfied with your results, head on to the Implementation tab to check out one of the demo applications we created.

WifiPositioningSystem

Global positioning system or GPS is commonly used to navigate through roads and other open locations. While GPS is good with larger distances, it is only able to achieve a limited accuracy in indoor spaces. Imagine navigating through a mall or a building using nothing but GPS, sound difficult right? Thus, we created Wi-Fi Positioning System (WPS) to help you navigate through indoor spaces. WPS relies on Wi-Fi signal strengths from close by networks in order to predict your location.
