iOS Wallpapers
An archive of every iOS wallpaper officially released by Apple
This repository aims to preserve every iOS wallpaper released by Apple, all the way from iPhone OS 1.0 up to (currently) iOS/iPadOS 15.4. Wallpapers are sorted by device class, followed by the screen size they are made for and the iOS/iPadOS version they have first been introduced in.
If there are multiple screen sizes (such as 3.5" or 6.1"), the screen scale is added to the end. Wallpapers are also split into "Stills" and "Live" (previously "Motion").
All wallpapers are extracted directly from /Library/Wallpaper within the respective IPSW files and have not been touched in any way. Thumbnails and default/poster files have been removed to save space.
A note regarding iOS 16 wallpapers: Starting with iOS 16, wallpapers are composed of multiple layers (eg. the default "WWDC 2022" wallpaper has a "background", "floating" and "foreground" layer) that create the new parallax effects.
These wallpapers are rendered in realtime, which results in no "untouched" image files included in the device firmware files.
Instead, these wallpapers are now composed manually for this collection, with otherwise untouched assets.

iPad
Note: iPad mini (5th generation and older) uses the same resolution (768x1024 1x, 1536x2048 2x) as 9.7" iPads. iPad mini (6th generation) has a larger resolution (2266x1488) and therefore has its own category.

Note: iPod touch uses the same wallpapers as iPhones running the same version of iOS. This table only shows iPod touch-exclusive wallpapers.
